Fin-Nor Primal Lever Drag Reels take Fin-Nor in a positive direction. A company fixated on heavy reels have finally stepped into the present and released a really nice lever drag reel that is lightweight, powerful and has a fair price. The primal is constructed of aluminum with a MagShield finish that prevents corrosion. The large EVA ball power knob is comfortable and won’t get slippery when wet. Internally, the reel is overbuilt with strong stainless steel gears, seven ball bearings and a great anti-reverse system that features a pawl and ratchet back up clutch. Fin-Nor has put their MagDrag system into the Primal that produces 30 lbs of drag at max, which is incredible for a reel of this size and weight. The idea is to spool it with braid and go after big inshore and nearshore fish.
